Höstens uppkommande serier | FOX
Vi är klara med NBC (mitt ABC-inlägg ska göras om), så nu är det dags för en ny kanal - nämligen FOX. Här har vi fyra serier som kommer att komma under midseason 2018/2019, och jag måste faktiskt säga att de verkar ha gett upp denna säsong. Eller fick alla andra serier en lägre budget för att få Ridley Scott att göra The Passage? Allt verkar nämligen ligga mellan mediokert, till katastrofalt.
Proven Innocent
Proven Innocent follows an underdog criminal defense firm led by Madeline Scott, a fierce and uncompromising lawyer with a hunger for justice. There is no one who understands the power of setting an innocent person free more than Madeline. At age 18, she was wrongfully convicted, along with her brother, Levi, in a sensational murder case that made her an infamous media obsession, a household name and a national cause célèbre.
Detta är nog den enda serie som jag tror att jag kommer att följa. Om något, så är det värt att se Proven Innocent bara på grund av Rachelle Lefevres fantastiska hår. Men jag tycker ändå att detta verkar vara helt okej - en sassy kvinna som slåss för människor vars rättigheter har ignorerats. Kan antagligen bli ganska roligt att följa en säsong, speciellt i och med att huvudrollen har varit med om samma sak som människorna hon försöker rädda. Kul att Riley Smith är med också.
The Cool Kids
The Cool Kids is a multi-camera comedy about a rag-tag group of friends living in a retirement community who are willing to break every rule in order to have fun – because, at their age, what do they really have to lose. What unites them all is their shared belief that they’re not done yet – not by a long shot. Growing old with dignity is for chumps. Our self-proclaimed “cool kids” are determined to make the third act of the lives the craziest one yet.
Det här ser så otroligt dåligt ut, förstår inte ens hur de kunde tro att det här var en serie att satsa på. Jag undrar egentligen hur många bra piloter som det tackades nej till, för att skapa det här. Vet inte ens vilken publik The Cool Kids riktar sig åt, men inte är det mig i alla fall. Till och med trailern kändes för lång, och det säger väl något egentligen. Detta är nog inget som jag kommer tycka om.
The Passage
The Passage focuses on Project Noah, a secret medical facility where scientists are experimenting with a dangerous virus that could lead to the cure for all disease, but also carries the potential to wipe out the human race. When a young girl, Amy Bellafonte is chosen to be a test subject, Federal Agent Bard Wolgast is the man who is tasked with bringing her to Project Noah. Ultimately, however, Wolgast becomes her surrogate father, as he tries to protect her at any cost.
Det känns som att det här är vad FOX lade alla sina pengar på detta år, The Passage. Serien som baseras på en bokserie, med Ridley Scott i framkanten. Jag tror faktiskt att det här kan bli riktigt bra, speciellt när vi har Mark-Paul Gosselaar. Har saknat honom i en serieroll sedan Pitch lades ner. The Passages enda fara kan väl vara att det känns lite mer som ett filmkoncept, att det kan kännas utdraget när vi nu får det i ett serieformat. Vi får se, helt enkelt.
Rel
Based on the life of Lil Rel Howery, Rel is a multi-camera comedy starring Howery as a loving husband and father living on the West Side of Chicago, who finds out his wife is having an affair. And not just any affair. An affair with Rel’s own barber. Quite easily the worst person for your wife to sleep with, because as hard it is to find a good spouse, it's even harder to find a reliable barber. Plus, with the barbershop being one of the epicenters of neighborhood gossip, Rel finds his embarrassing business is known by everyone.
Sist, och faktiskt minst, kommer Rel. Detta är en serie jag inte alls förstår mig på - ska det vara en parodi? Ska det vara en seriöst serie? Jag fattar ingenting. Det enda jag förstår, är att detta heller inte kommer vara en serie för mig. Om jag inte ens förstår konceptet i en trailer, kommer jag nog verkligen inte förstå konceptet i en hel serie. Allt känns så himla oseriöst, bara.
