Topp 5 | höst och 90-tal
Det känns som att ungefär alla klassiska filmer släpptes på 90-talet. Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction, Forrest Gump, Jurassic Park, Schindler's List med mera. Det finns alltså en väldigt stor mängd riktigt bra filmer som släpptes under det årtionde där jag föddes. Men vad jag tänkte fokusera på idag är något lite mer specifikt, nämligen 90-tals filmer som utspelar sig på hösten, och som är allmänt höstiga. Detta inlägg är ett samarbete mellan mig, Karin, Sara, Elsa och Felicia.
Stepmom
Anna and Ben, the two children of Jackie and Luke, have to cope with the fact that their parents divorced and that there is a new woman in their father's life: Isabel, a successful photographer. She does her best to treat the kids in a way that makes them still feel at home when being with their dad, but also loves her work and does not plan to give it up. But Jackie, a full-time mother, regards Isabel's efforts as offensively insufficient. She can't understand that work can be important to her as well as the kids. The conflict between them is deepened by the sudden diagnosis of cancer, which might may be deadly for Jackie. They all have to learn a little in order to grow together.
Vi börjar med en av de bästa Julia Roberts-filmerna, vilket i alla fall säger väldigt mycket för mig. Det är en väldigt jobbig handling som denna film ger oss, med karaktärer i en väldigt jobbig situation. Men det är även det som gör den så fin, samtidigt som vi får uppleva den fantastiska hösten i bakgrunden. En perfekt årstid till denna fantastiska film.
Practical Magic
Sally and Gillian Owens have always known they were different. Raised by their aunts after their parents' death, the sisters grew up in a household that was anything but typical--their aunts fed them chocolate cake for breakfast and taught them the uses of practical magic. But the invocation of the Owens' sorcery also carries a price--some call it a curse: the men they fall in love with are doomed to an untimely death. Now adult women with very different personalities, the quiet Sally and the fiery Gillian must use all of their powers to fight the family curse and a swarm of supernatural forces that threatens the lives of all the Owens women.
Den här listan kommer att bestå av två typer av filmer - mysiga, höstiga draman eller filmer med häxor. Precis som hösten överlag samarbetar med halloween. Det här är den första filmen av det sistnämnda slaget. Alltså en film som handlar om häxor. Denna innehåller även Sandra Bullock och Nicole Kidman (kan det bli bättre än så?). Denna har dock utöver den magiska aspekten även en väldigt romantisk handling, så vi får alltså allt i ett med Practical Magic.
You've Got Mail
The owner of a large bookstore chain starts putting the owner of a small local bookstore out of business. Meanwhile they have been corresponding over the internet without knowing who either of them are. They can't stand each other in person but over the internet they are very attracted. He finds out who she is but she doesn't know. He starts to like her more but she still hates him. He has to fix it.
Det här är kanske lite fusk, eftersom att filmen egentligen utspelar sig över alla årstider. Men hösten är ändå med, och detta är en av mina absoluta favoritfilmer så självklart måste den vara med på listan. Tom Hanks och Meg Ryan är fantastiska tillsammans, och i denna film får vi även massvis av böcker, mysiga årstider och en fin romans. En perfekt romantisk 90-tals film.
Sleepy Hollow
After the head of a Hessian horseman is stolen, the horseman returns from hell to take the heads of the people of Sleepy Hollow until its own is returned. Constable Ichabod Crane is called in to investigate three murders. Through his investigation he learns of the legend of the Headless Horseman, but he doesn't believe that the stories are true - until the horseman takes off the head of one of the elders right in front of his very eyes. Now he must race to find out the origins of the horseman in order to send him back to his grave for good. But the question remains - if the head was stolen once, how safe is it?
Den här filmen är egentligen inte en enorm favorit hos mig, kanske för att jag inte sett den på så länge. Tycker att en istället ska se serien, eller Scooby Doo, om en vill uppleva Sleepy Hollow-legenden. Vet dock att det är en väldigt uppskattad film, och kostymerna är ändå otroligt snygga. Och behöver vi inte ett övernaturligt, lite obehagligt, mörkt kostymdrama på hösten? Jo.
Hocus Pocus
In the year 1693, sisters, Winifred, Mary and Sarah were executed for practicing witchcraft. Just before their execution, Winifred made a curse, a curse that when a virgin lights the black flame candle they shall return . In 1993, 300 years later, Max decides to light the candle in order to show off to his irritating kid sister Dani and his wannabe girlfriend Alison. Now, the three Witches are back ready for a night of fun, magic and horror in the modern Salem on Halloween.
Sist men inte minst hittar vi den här klassikern, Hocus Pocus, en film jag precis som Sleepy Hollow tyvärr inte har sett på väldigt länge. Såg den här filmen på Disney Channel när jag var liten, och tyckte om den jätte mycket. Jätte rolig och jätte mysig film, samtidigt som den fortfarande har en otroligt djup, underliggande aspekt. Häxjakten i Salem. Hocus Pocus är en perfekt höstig film.
